How's Your Credit Rating?

Well, this is my first credit-related blog. Just for information purposes, I prefer to spend in cash. In fact, I was not the one who applied for all the credit cards I have. If ever I do use credit cards, my credit card purchases are simply for small personal purposes. I also see to it that all credit card balances are paid before the due date. This way, I don't worry about some exorbitant fees being imposed on unpaid balances. Except for the small loans I have applied wherein I opted for a shorter period repayment, cash is still my first choice. But business is business, and in business, some credits are good :D

Other people take advantage of the spending freedom credit cards provide. More and more establishments accept credit card payments. And I observed that some people are now becoming impulsive buyer because they have credit cards with them. Some people keeps on applying for loans until there's almost nothing left of their monthly salaries. Little did I know that reports from credit cards, personal loans and insurances to name a few are used by other businessmen. The collated information is coined credit report. Now, if a person has too many unpaid bills and keep on piling up, credit report ratings are very low.

I am surprised to find some businesses that can raise or repair credit scores. How they do it is still a mystery to me. I have not bothered checking on my own credit score. Maybe, it is because I still do not see an immediate need for it. What I only know is that big businesses should have high credit scores before they transact with other businesses. Or, they will pay everything in cash.

Merchant Account

When I was still starting with my online money making activities, I've dealt with both high and low risk investments. I've never thought of acquiring a merchant account since I can participate and earn without it. But now that I am more knowledgeable (than before) and have found viable earning opportunities online, I realized that having a merchant account is important after all.

I need a merchant account that can accept credit card payments for both online and offline transactions, may it be high risk or low risk undertaking. Every second counts when it come to money and having a merchant account will connect me to my customers 24/7. I will still be dealing with high risk investment programs from time to time therefore a merchant account with high risk credit card processing such as Advantage Processors will be very beneficial.

Of course, I will still do further due diligence on this one. It's a money matter after all.

Documenting My Domains at RegisterFly

I've encountered some errors accessing one of my domains. It is being forwarded to a domain name I'd rather not mention here but I can tell you if you contact me. I found out just now that it is not only me who was on the same situation. There are still many RegisterFly users whose domains were forwarded to the same site.

Since I encountered the errors, I slowly documented my domains the previous days. I finished whole morning documenting my Registerfly account and the domains I have registered with them. All my domains are using the free WHOIS protection service so I disabled them all. This step may not be full-proof but it might help when worse comes to worst.

If you have not done it yet then I suggest you better do your documentation now. If you do not know how, here are some steps:

1. Log-in to your RegisterFly account.
2. Click on Manage Domains.
3. Take a screenshot of all your domains. If your domains do not fit in one screen, then repeat taking screenshots.
4. Save your images.

Be sure to check also your WHOIS whether it is still yours. Print or take a screenshot of the WHOIS information.

What a Coincidence!

Same period last year, the Stormpay fiasco broke out. Thousands of online users, mostly people who make money online, got affected. Some have lost properties and means of earning a living. I've also lost a few hundreds of dollars. Stormpay fiasco was the worst event online for 2006.

For 2007, RegisterFly is taking over the record. According to this post at Registerflies, Registerfly "has currently been hacked into and taken over by Kevin Medina in the Florida office". There are too much fuzz going all around. There are too many people affected with this issue. These are the people who depend on their domains for a living.

Although I have only a few domains and considering that I have not developed them yet, I'd still like to have control over them. I consider them as my little achievements, the rewards I got for being online. I am still hoping for the best.

I wonder what will happen to the domains registered with RegisterFly once their accreditation is removed.

Domain Fiasco at Registerfly

Following the Registerfly fiasco, I've checked each of my domain names whether they are still under my account. I had a difficulty accessing the site. All domains are still where they are supposed to be, my own account. Most of my domains are parked at Sedo and all parked domains are still displaying parked pages. I've updated some of the domains to point on my hosting. I'm having second thoughts to develop the sites now with this chaos. It might become a waste of time in the end. On time resolution is really needed before Registerfly business goes down the drain.

Registerly warned by ICANN

When I started registering domain names, I choose Registeryfly.com because it was easy to register and there is no need for me to use credit card or Paypal to pay for their services. Registerly allows e-gold for payments. It was only later on that I experienced glitches on their system.

I had my first unwanted experience with Registerfly when I registered a domain name. I was supposed to use a promo code and enter it in the process. Instead of a step-by-step process after I entered the domain name, I was taken directly to the 'paid-out' page and my account got deducted for the whole price. I emailed support but it was never resolved.

I also encountered several glitches when I was setting-up the domains for parking at Sedo. There are times when I got a message that the domains are not mine and that my IP address is recorded.

Now, I am not sure where to transfer my domain names or whether I should transfer them at all. Customers are already transferring their domain names to other registrars. Through a warning letter, ICANN warned Registerfly because of too many complaints from customers. I've read reviews about other registrars as well but it seems even the most popular ones are having some customer issues.

There are many issues that have come out including embezzlement of funds by the then-CEO Mr. Medina. An official statement coming from Registerfly is published at Registerflies.

I hope that the issues be resolved soon as I still have some amount on my Registerfly CheckOut account.

I've recently signed up for PayPerPost because of the good reviews that I have been reading about this program. PayPerPost has been constantly giving its bloggers opportunities to make money through blogging and has been paying its bloggers consistently.

PayPerPost has recently implemented segmentation. Advertisers can now choose the Alexa score and page rank of the sites where their ads will be displayed. Advertisers can also require that publishers have already received feedback or tacks from previous advertisers. These features are beneficial to all parties concerned. Advertisers will surely get the value of the money they paid for blog marketing.

One advantage of PayPerPost over other programs that offer the same service is its low 35% service fee charge. ReviewMe charges 50%. With PayPerPost, the blogger/publisher gets paid more. Whether a site has a low or high traffic, there are opportunities available. But of course, the site with higher traffic and rank has more benefits. I thought I have no chance of winning since it was busy week attending to personal errands. I even cancelled some of my part-time assignments as I feel I can't deliver quality service. I even missed submitting an article yesterday, a sign that I need to slow down a little. :)

I Won, I Won

Yesterday, I found out that I won an image hosting website including the domain name from one of the forums where I am a member. I am still waiting for the email from the Admin containing the log-in details for my new website.

I am already thinking of redesigning the main page, incorporate some of my own abstract designs (abstract because I don't know what they really mean....lol) and promoting it.

I really need to find a good hosting now for all these projects that I have in mind. I am thinking of getting a reseller hosting but the budget is keeping me from having one. I need to find more easy income generating avenues to finance all my internet activities :D

MPAM Update

I got a free hosting at CashHosters for the domain http://internetways.info. I am still setting up the site as of this writing and I hope to finish it soon before my next visit to the hospital. I have not decided yet on what is the best niche for this domain.

Another member has joined my team at MPAM It is another person who wants to learn how to make money online. Instead of doing the tutorial myself, I sent her to MPAM. I believe MPAM provides the necessary tutorial on how to make money online with several income streams being presented.

Writing Gig

I just received notice that my pay-out for my writing gig has been deposited on my bank account yesterday.

Wow, that is a very good news :)

Just in time to pay some bills that are due for payments. I am already thinking of updating my knowledge regarding writing. I’ve searched for other writing gigs and some of them require knowledge on APA and MLA.

Important Note to Bloggers

I have not given much thought to what the BlogSend address feature of Blogger before until recently. I made a post on my blog before I retire for the night and when I woke up, I started on a new topic again. Unfortunately, I can't find the blog posts anymore. I found rewriting an article disgusting. The effort and time I've given to writing that article has been wasted but I need to rewrite the article.

As I usually manually ping my blog after every update, I noticed that the missing blog post is displayed both in Technorati and Feedburner. Only, it is not displaying on my main blog and on my dashboard.

So now, I use the BlogSend Address feature. The image above illustrates the location of the said feature. A copy of every new blog post is sent to that email address. This could prove helpful if you encounter missing blog posts. Unfortunately, this is only for new blog posts and is not applicable for any revisions you made on the blog.

Social Bookmarking Script

I was looking for a social bookmarking script that I can use in some of my future projects. I only found one that will let me have a full control over the script and with accompanying resell rights. Since I am still low on budget and there are many free options available, I'd rather take advantage of those freebies for now.

The bookmarking script I am looking for is a software that lets me use one link on my site but is capable of bookmarking several sites. For now, it remains a project to be finished. :)
