When US economy went down about 3 to 4 years ago, I lost more than $200 trading live in forex. I was in a buy mode when the currency just went down, down, down.... That $200+ is small when compared with big traders but that's already big when it's the only fund inside your forex account :)
I just got interested again this year, inspired by the many ways of how I can earn just being online. I might not earn from forex trading but I might as well get re-acquainted with how other platform works. So, I choose to open a practice account with OANDA.
OANDA's practice (virtual) account is funded with $100,000.00. That's a lot of dollars to practice with. As of this writing, I've only traded two (2) pairs, GBP/JPY and GBP/USD. My initial $100,000 as of third week of June 2012 has now grown to $103,471.00. That's $3,471 profit in less than a month. Wish it was real money :)
Logging in today, I closed my only GBP/JPY trade on profit. And another good news, OANDA is having a promo,
"Trade with OANDA for a chance to win $10,000!"
OANDA fxTrade is nearing its billionth transaction! To celebrate this major milestone, OANDA is awarding Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes for the first three trades made immediately after our transaction counter hits one billion. All trades on the award-winning fxTrade platform—including forex and precious metals—are eligible to win.
Breakdown of prizes are
-
First Place: The first place winner shall have 10,000 USD, the
equivalent of 1 billion pipettes in a USD fxTrade account, deposited
into his/her existing fxTrade account with OANDA or any of its
subsidiaries.
-
Second Place: The second place winner shall have 1,000 USD, the
equivalent of 100 million pipettes in a USD fxTrade account, deposited
into his/her existing fxTrade account with OANDA or any of its

equivalent of 50 million pipettes in a USD fxTrade account, deposited
into his/her existing fxTrade account with OANDA or any of its
subsidiaries.
I am still thinking if I am ready to trade live again. Even if I do, do I have enough funds to increase my margin?
