Today should have been the day Registefly is supposed to lose its ICANN-registered status as domain registrar but according to ICANN , Registerfly decided to challenge the termination issued by ICANN. The challenge will give Registerfly another 30 days to hold to its status. Because of this, negative reactions were received from many domain owners. I should say I am one of them as I still have few dollars on my Registerfly account. It's good that I was able to transfer all my domains to several registrars. I say again, Registerfly is a good business considering the many clients they have, earning quite a sizable money. But, it has turned sour because of poor money management. One of my domains at Registerfly had a Protectfly and I can not disable the protection from within the system of Registerfly. If I can not remove the Protectfly, I can not have an access to the Authorization Code. I can not proceed with the transfer to another registrar. I have been tinkering with my account this morning and found a way to do it. And this is what I did. 1. Create a NEW free Registerfly account. 2. On your OLD Registerfly account, proceed to your Account Control Panel. 3. Click on Change of Ownership on the right side of your Control Panel. 4. Proceed with the 'Internal Push to Other User' and click continue 5. Enter the username for your NEW Registerfly account on the space provided then confirm. 6. It's a morning for domain transfers. From the twelve domains I registered at Registerfly, I decided to transfer seven to GoDaddy taking advantage of the transfer promo for Registerfly-registered domains. As for the remaining 5, that remains to be seen. I encountered minor problems with the 5 domains. The Protectfly is enabled yet my WHOIS info is the one being displayed when a WHOIS. I had to disable the Protectfly again. I am very sure I've already disabled the protection when the issue was just starting. I even placed password protection to some of the domains. Also, the WHOIS info is different from that of my Registerfly account. Bulk changes is not supported anymore so I have to manually and individually change all the data and disable the protection. Most of us who registered their domains at Registerfly are aware of the issues surrounding the program. Being busy for the past three days, I temporarily forgot my domains and my move to transfer them. As I checked my account again today, I had a trouble signing-in. I've used the 'Lost Password' option but I did not receive any email verification. Knowing that I've changed my password just recently, I tried logging in using my old password. That was the finally the answer. Checking the list of my domains, I found that the WHOIS info security is enabled for all the domains when in fact I've already disabled it few days ago. I've also changed the WHOIS info to that of mine and this I can attest because DomainTools showed the info. Inside my Registerfly account, it is still displaying the old information. I've encountered some errors accessing one of my domains. It is being forwarded to a domain name I'd rather not mention here but I can tell you if you contact me. I found out just now that it is not only me who was on the same situation. There are still many RegisterFly users whose domains were forwarded to the same site. Since I encountered the errors, I slowly documented my domains the previous days. I finished whole morning documenting my Registerfly account and the domains I have registered with them. All my domains are using the free WHOIS protection service so I disabled them all. This step may not be full-proof but it might help when worse comes to worst. Same period last year, the Stormpay fiasco broke out. Thousands of online users, mostly people who make money online, got affected. Some have lost properties and means of earning a living. I've also lost a few hundreds of dollars. Stormpay fiasco was the worst event online for 2006. For 2007, RegisterFly is taking over the record. According to this post at Registerflies, Registerfly "has currently been hacked into and taken over by Kevin Medina in the Florida office" . There are too much fuzz going all around. There are too many people affected with this issue. These are the people who depend on their domains for a living. Although I have only a few domains and considering that I have not developed them yet, I'd still like to have control over them. I consider them as my little achievements, the rewards I got for being online. I am still hoping for the best. I wonder what will happen to the domains registered with RegisterFly once their accreditation is removed....

Following the Registerfly fiasco , I've checked each of my domain names whether they are still under my account. I had a difficulty accessing the site. All domains are still where they are supposed to be, my own account. Most of my domains are parked at Sedo and all parked domains are still displaying parked pages. I've updated some of the domains to point on my hosting. I'm having second thoughts to develop the sites now with this chaos. It might become a waste of time in the end. When I started registering domain names, I choose Registeryfly.com because it was easy to register and there is no need for me to use credit card or Paypal to pay for their services.
